The Law Limits The Amount Individuals Can Give. Individual contributions may not exceed $3400 over 4 years; Independent Committee contributions may not exceed $34,000 over 4 years.

Any business group or organization that contributes $500.00 or more in a calendar year to or on behalf of candidates or ballot questions in Michigan becomes a “committee” under the Campaign Finance Act. The “committee” must comply with the Act by filing a Statement of Organization and any applicable Campaign Statements no later than 10 days after the donation.
